Oral Hygiene Treatment Leamington Spa

Dental Hygiene

Good oral hygiene is very important and we consider that our dental hygienist has one of the most important roles at the practice. Working closely alongside our dentists, our hygienist will show you the best ways to keep your gums and teeth clean and also carry out regular hygiene checks and cleaning to help keep your teeth and gums in tip top condition.

A great hygiene regime can help prevent gum disease, one of the prime causes of tooth loss in the UK today. Gum disease has also been linked to high blood pressure and heart conditions in recent clinical studies so preventing it is clearly important - another great reason for maintaining good oral hygiene and regular visits to our hygienist!

Each visit to the hygienist will typically take around 20 minutes but this could extend if more intensive cleaning is required. We will check the condition of your gums, use special “scaling” tools to remove tartar and then finally a thorough polish. We recommend that you visit us every 6 months to ensure your teeth and gums stay in great condition and so we can catch any problems early on.

Airflow

We also offer Airflow treatment.

What is Airflow therapy? Airflow is a hygiene treatment that removes persistent stains on your teeth, plaque and discolouration using a combination of water, compressed air and fine powder particles. These three components are combined in a high-powered jet which gently removes stains from your teeth including hard to reach areas as well as biofilm from above and below the gum line.

Dental plaque is a biofilm of harmful bacteria that grows on surfaces within the mouth.
The innovative spray technology can access all those hard to reach areas It effectively removes the damaging biofilm that develops above and below the gum to improve your oral health and help you achieve a brighter smile.
